Learning to Lead
Irfan has packed his bags and is off to Karachi to learn about Christian leadership along with sixteen other Pakistani men for the next few months. You see him above with Adnan (on the left) and Mehboob (on the right) who are seeing him off at the airport for the flight to Karachi
Here is the entire class of those who will be attending Covenant Leadership Training Institute for the first time ever in Pakistan. CLTI, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, offers an on-site intensive program for training Christian leaders. The teaching includes Bible, theology, spiritual formation, and leadership. CLTI has campuses not only in St. Louis, but also in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Livingstone, Zambia.
More than a year ago, after visiting Pakistan on several occasions with Gary Finkbeiner of Reach the Nations, leaders at CLTI felt God was leading them to establish another campus in Karachi, Pakistan. Because of Covid, the facility they built and the teaching they planned to do there was put on hold. Now, this month, the work can begin.
These are the three men that Reach the Nations is sponsoring for the CLTI training: In the middle is Shakeel, who has been working with RTN in establishing churches in Sindh Province. He completed the CLTI training in Zambia a few years ago and now is going to be teaching a class on Romans for this session's students. On the left is Shakeel's friend in ministry, Shahzaib. And on the right is Irfan, who is part of the RTN outreach team in Punjab.
Pray for these men as they are away from their families, focused completely on God's Word and instruction in establishing and leading New Testament churches in their homeland.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
