Human Needs and Human Rights at Christmas

Manzoor Masih (shown at the microphone above) has been an integral part of Reach the Nations in Pakistan since the beginning of our ministry there. He serves as a liaison, advisor, and mentor, and we have great appreciation for his leadership.

But that's not all he does. Manzoor (in the suit and tie behind the sign above) was appointed, some time ago, by the Pakistani government to serve on the Pakistan National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR). The mission of the NCHR, as stated on their website, ". . . is to see a progressive Pakistan where human rights of all faiths, races and ethnicities are respected and celebrated." (https://www.nchr.gov.pk/)

The two pictures above and the one below show food distribution by NCHR (in cooperation with a local church) to people who were affected by flooding earlier this year in Abbottabad. They distributed groceries, as a blessing at Christmastime, to families who are without ready access to food because of crops that were destroyed in the floods.

The picture below shows Manzoor meeting with Christian bishops in his NCHR office in Islamabad.

Please pray for Manzoor as he works tirelessly to make sure minority voices are heard in Pakistan and to work with governmental leaders to create a place that provides greater opportunities for people of all faiths and ethnicities.

And, from all of us at Reach the Nations, we pray you will have a blessed Christmas!

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

because the Lord has anointed me

to bring good news to the poor;

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives,

and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,

and the day of vengeance of our God;

to comfort all who mourn;" - Isaiah 61:1-2
