God's People in Pakistan

Mehboob and Irfan share teaching and leadership responsibilities in the ministry to villages in the Sialkot area of Punjab.

They report that the weather is still very hot and that the monsoon related flooding continues, though it is not as widespread as it is in Sindh Province. The flooding, though, has caused power outages many hours each day and difficulty in traveling on the back roads leading to these gatherings.

Most of the people here work as day laborers, meaning they get work day-by-day. When there is no work, there is no pay. The flooding has disrupted much of the available work in the field, so there are needs among these families that we pray will soon be met by their returning to the day jobs when the ground dries up.

Mehboob says, "These people normally gather in the evening and we visit them in the evening and some time in day times. When we gather, we spend time in prayer and worship, and we also share the Word of God with them." The Church of DhamoKay continues to be strong under the leadership of Adnan. Here they listen as he teaches them truths from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

And below you will see the church at prayer. They ask for your prayers as well as they strive to serve God in a difficult place and in challenging times.

". . . praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel. - Ephesians 6:18-19 (Paul to the believers at Ephesus)
