First Day of School

The new class of literacy students is getting down to work. We have 16 enrolled in this six-month course which meets two hours a day for three days every week at Prayer Tower church in Islamabad.

Fifteen of the students are women and one is a young man who had to drop out of school and now wants to learn to read.

In addition to reading, our teacher, Zarish, teaches them basic math skills and writing.

In between class sessions, they study, review, and complete assignments. It's hard work, but they are committed to becoming literate. Pray for their persistence in study and their success in learning.
