A Visit to Daska
When Peter Negron of Reach the Nations visited Punjab a week or so ago, he spent some time with Mehboob and Adnan in Daska.
He was welcomed at the church there in a way that is customary in Pakistan: A gift of flowers around the neck. In this case, it is very large - representing an enthusiastic welcome!
He preached there, sharing from his heart and from the Bible a message to encourage and challenge those who listened. Adnan stands next to him translating.
Peter reports that this congregation meets in an open courtyard area, but, with 50-plus attendees, has outgrown the area. They are actively looking for a larger place, hopefully with a roof this time so they can be protected from sun and rain and, at times, the cold weather. Pray there will be a place close by that will meet their needs.
The men shown below accompanied Peter on the two-day trip into Punjab including the visit to Daska. Left to right you see Adnan, Peter, Manzoor, Mehboob, and the driver who took them from Islamabad to and around Daska.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Daska, thanking God for his blessing on their gathering, and asking for many more to come to know the truth about Jesus and his self-sacrificing love for them.
"And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:14-16
